‘Echinus’ –natures details.
The inspiration is the fragile shells from seaurchins found on the beach. Rows of small raised dots are applied onto the surface which add a tactile quality to the piece.

Lene Kuhl Jakobsen grew up in Denmark where she completed a degree in ceramics and worked as a potter before moving to Australia in 1985. She now lives in Melbourne and works from a homestudio making mainly functional pieces in white stoneware. Lene has won several awards and is represented in artcollections. She regularly exhibits all over Australia.
